Long before the combatants switched coasts and paired off as Bay Area rivals in an earthquake-marred Fall Classic, the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Giants did battle in the 1913 World Series as the latter team became the last to lose three successive October showdowns. Encapsulated and Graded VG 3 by PSA/DNA, this Shibe Park ticket stub was issued for Game 4 of that 1913 tilt. This “Pavilion” voucher is the lone graded specimen and presents beautifully with printed seating/event details and the facsimile signature of A’s icon Connie Mack. Staked to a 6-0 lead that day, Philadelphia's Chief Bender survived a late Giants rally and went the route in a 6-5 triumph to give the hosts a commanding 3games to 1 advantage. The ticket has a clean reverse, sharp edges, strong perforations and an uneven admission tear. The "GAME 2B" identifier is consistent with the series' unusual "alternating home games" schedule.
