Description

With the club having improved a whopping 21 games in the managerial debut of Ted Williams, aspirations were lofty in the spring of 1970. Issued at the Senators’ Pompano Beach, Florida spring training site, this program was autographed by (16) Washington principals. Executed in ballpoint on the front and back covers (with 2 on the roster page), the pennings average (“8-9”) strength with highlights including: E. Brinkman, Coleman, Epstein, F. Additional signatures include: Allen, Brunet, Cox, Hannan, Humphreys (in pencil), Ramos, Shellenback, Simpson and Whitson And (1) unidentified.

The program was issued for a Yankees vs. Senators exhibition. The scoring grids are unmarked. Covers and all (12) pages are intact, though there is a vertical compacting fold (likely to facilitate storage in someone’s back pocket).

Also included are (12) original color photographs captured by a fan’s personal camera. Among the identifiable subjects are Bernie Allen, Frank Howard, Wayne Terwilliger and Ted Williams.
