In his 19th of 23 seasons, Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski became just the 14th player to reach the 3,000 career hits plateau, delivering an eighth-inning single off of Yankees reliever Jim Beattie as the BoSox bested the Bronx Bombers, 9-2 on September 12, 1979 at Fenway Park. Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic” by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at Fenway Park for that historic contest that was marked by both Yastrzemski’s milestone hit and pitcher Catfish Hunter’s final career decision. The “Reserved” voucher features printed seating/event details, as well as the facsimile signature of Red Sox General Manager Haywood Sullivan. Appropriately, the obverse features a black-and-white likeness of Yaz.
