Description

Film buffs score big with this collection of (18) 1940s-1950s movie posters. Western fans in particular will be thrilled with this dynamic selection, as it is loaded with classic cowboy features, starring genre veterans John Wayne Errol Flynn, Charles Starrett, Bill Elliott, Tex Ritter, and Johnny Mack Brown. Also figuring in the mix are Hollywood heavyweights Clark Gable, Olivia DeHavilland, Bette Davis, and Donald O'Connor, appearing in comedies and dramas. As can be expected of vintage paper collectibles, this group reports as mid to lesser state examples, with typical pinholes, splits along fold lines, minimal to moderate soiling/staining, and tape repairs/reinforcements. Despite these common conditions, these "Golden Age" posters retain abundant display appeal.

These posters are one-sheets unless noted, and the assigned grades are with deference to the conditions noted above.

Featured are:

1940 "West of Abilene" with Charles Starrett (FR-GD);

1941 "The Royal Mounted Patrol" with Charles Starrett (GD-VG);
