Description

Train your powers on a vastly important key first issue, Marvel's 1961 The Fantastic Four #1. The historic importance of this seminal issue cannot be overstated. Way back when Marvel was known as Timely Comics, several popular super-hero titles flourished during WWII, however a lull in the action came about when the war was over. With a rebranding as Atlas in the 1950s, dabbling in the super-hero genre was minimal. Then came the launch of The Fantastic Four in the Silver Age, which ushered in the "Marvel Age of Comics". This title and others starring super-heroes that were soon released, put Marvel at the forefront of the comic book industry, with tales aimed at more mature readers broadening the reader base. We loyal followers of the super-hero genre have benefitted greatly over the ensuing sixty-two years, subsisting on the adventures of Spider-Man, The X-Men, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and so many other treasured characters.

Long held in seclusion, this new to the market comic has just returned from grading submission, with a CGC designation of (3.0, Cream to Off-White Pages). CGC's label notes the contribution of game-changing creators with "Stan Lee story, Jack Kirby cover & art". Also printed on the label is "Origin & 1st appearance of the Fantastic Four (Marvel's 1st super-hero team) & the Mole Man". Excelsior!
