Sound the trumpets, send up the rockets, and polish off the superlatives, we have royalty in the house, with this regal "Babe" Ruth autograph. We know of no other player dubbed with as many royal nicknames as Ruth. A few of the most famous are: "The Sultan of Swat"; "The King of Crash"; "The Colossus of Clout"; and of course "The Great Bambino". Absolutely the most iconic figure to ever don a baseball uniform, Ruth earned all his titles by popularizing the "long ball", forever changing how the game is played. Here Ruth earns a vital spot in your autograph collection, with this boldly signed 1936 government postcard. Few of the Babe's autographs have withstood the test of time in such fine fashion, as this astonishing ("9") strength signature, which is neatly located at the geographic center of this crisp, cream-colored card, under the salutation "Sincerely", and flanked by two neatly adhered photo clippings. The addressed side of this ancient treasure bears a New York, NY postmark dated 11/16/36, along with the name and address of the lucky Cleveland fan who was the original recipient of this prized autograph. From Ruth's first full year of retirement, this essential autograph stands ready to finally fill that great big hole in your collection. Full photo LOA from JSA.
